Coach Me To Balance | March 2014
Is that you today? I woke up this morning feeling as if the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders. I got a sense that the veil had been removed from my eyes and the deceiver had been put on notice. I believe in my heart that the clouds of doubt have dissipated as the dawning of this new day sprang forth! We often cannot explain when we got in our funk. Many times people see us off our game before we actually realize that we are in place of mental and emotional despair. Over the last few months we can all say that we have not been at our usual self. You know; the person who is on point and ready for the business meeting; the college student who has all their projects done ahead of schedule; the girlfriend who never ever misses reminding you of tidbits like you have been dating for 3 months, 6 days, 4 hours, 22 minutes and 5 seconds! Yes you…that person who is aware of everything around you, who suddenly one day is out of sorts!
Without warning our coping skills can give out on us. We have managed, orchestrated, persuaded, endured, persevered, wrangled, finagled, connived, coerced, manipulated, and expand our capacity to the point that a single inkling of something looking like it might go awry will send us over the edge. But, today is different. You are awakened to new possibilities, to the boldness that is within you, to the strength that once eluded you, to the courage that is alive in you. Today, I woke up alive. I pray that as you approach your journey to balanced living, that you will take the time to allow yourself to simply live in the moments that God provides you. Not everyday will be perfect, but each day has the potential to teach you something you had not ever thought you would experience. At times, right up to that very moment you experienced it! If not today, then maybe tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that day, but one day soon, you too will wake up alive!
