Pastor Ralph D West Addresses Emanuel AME Church Shooting
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Like you my heart has been broken over what happened at Emanuel Church, when Dylan Roof came in and sat with a group of brothers and sisters who welcomed him into their presence. Like you I’ve heard many different commentaries and the question has been asked of me, how do you respond biblically? Just as I encouraged The Church Without Walls congregation on Sunday morning, I want to encourage you to pray with me. The primary reality is simply this; the evil of evil is the rejection of good. As Christians our response is never that of the politician or sociologist. What we can do as brothers and sisters in Christ is invoke the presence of God and ask God in prayer to help us recognize, not just the evil, but how to stand against it. Join me right now in prayer as we begin today in our homes, our streets and in the cubicles where we work to allow good to triumph and transcend over evil. This is not a battle of one human being to another, but spiritual wickedness. The eradication of evil will begin when we learn how to love the way that Christ loves us. #beencouraged
